As I make this start into the world of blogging I am reminded of a story in my Year 4 reader. which had a profound effect on me. A father was going away. Before he left, he told his son he was giving the boy’s mother a piece of wood and some nails. His instructions were that if the boy misbehaved his mother was to hammer a nail into the wood so that the father could deal with it on his return. At first the boy misbehaved and the mother each time hammered in a nail. However he soon changed and the mother rewarded hm by removing the nails for each good deed. When the father returned he was pleased to see that there were no nails in the wood. BUT he regretfully pointed out to the son the evidence of his earlier errors were still visible , albiet faintly. I feel a little like this, my early errors will always be there. Therefore this is a courageous step for me.
